I qualified as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1992.
Following further clinical and research Fellowship training in
Adelaide and USA, I commenced Consultant Orthopaedic practice in
Perth 1995 and with a Senior Lecturer appointment in the
Department of Surgery at the University of Western Australia.
Currently my private practice is devoted to surgery of the
Shoulder, elbow and hand, and treatment of degenerative conditions
of the knee. My special interests are in arthroscopy and joint
replacement.
My professional activities include medical student teaching,
training orthopaedic registrars, service as scientific secretary
to the AOA (WA) committee (2000-2005), and currently Chairman of
Continuing Orthopaedic Education for the Australian Orthopaedic
Association (2007-2010). I am an active member of the Australian
Shoulder Elbow Society and Australian Hand Society.
I continue to be involved in clinical land laboratory research,
and present scientific papers at national and international
meetings.
I practice from St John of God hospitals, Murdoch and Subiaco, and
at the Mount Hospital. I see privately insured, workers
compensation and veteran patients, and currently am “gap covered”
with all major health funds.
My office staff are Kath and Lisa, with Louise as practice manager
and Des as practice nurse.
